I survived the ferry disaster – but lost 17 of my family
On a fateful day, tragedy struck as the ferry I was on capsized in the middle of the sea. The chaos and panic that ensued are still vivid in my memory. As the water rushed in, I struggled to find a way out, grappling with the possibility of never seeing my loved ones again.
Despite the overwhelming fear and despair, I managed to make it out alive. The relief I felt was overshadowed by the devastating news that 17 members of my family had perished in the disaster. The grief and loss were unbearable, a heavy burden that I carry with me every day.
Surviving the ferry disaster was a miracle, a second chance at life that I will never take for granted. But the void left by the absence of my family members is a constant reminder of the fragility of life and the cruel hand of fate.
As I look back on that tragic day, I am filled with a mix of emotions – gratitude for my survival, sorrow for my loss, and a profound sense of resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
